LUCVS is launching a 19th century book club, and you are invited!

Do you miss reading for pleasure?

Would you like to read more (or, indeed, any) Victorian literature but don't want to commit to another long novel?

LUCVS is starting a monthly reading group focusing mostly on short stories and possibly, a short novella or two.

If you have an hour or so to spare, and you'd like to spend it chatting with friends about stories like A Study in Scarlet or The Chimes, this might be the reading group for you!

Location: Room 530, Crown Center

Time: 6:00 pm -7:00 pm

Dates:

Feb 24, 2023 - The Mortal Immortal - Mary Shelly (UK)

March 24, 2023 - The Yellow Wallpaper - Charlotte Perkins Gilman (US)

April 21, 2023 - The Chimes - Charles Dickens (UK)

May 19, 2023 - The Fall of the House of Usher - Edgar Allan Poe (US)

Watch this space for the June - August reading list and meeting times.

If you have any questions, reach out to Mads Golding (mgolding@luc.edu).

We look forward to reading with you!
